Description
WikiSigns is an open web service that allows users to create and share online sign language dictionaries around the world.
The compilation of signs from different sign languages is of vital importance and can be used both for education and linguistic research purposes. For teachers in deaf education or the general public, these dictionaries may be a tool for learning sign languages. For deaf people they will be a tool for learning written languages. Our database of signs may also be useful for researchers worrking on the linguistic structure of sign languages.
Under each lexical item, there is a video of the signing uploaded by a volunteer.
